Campbell Fackre at the Mic

Campbell Fackre is a guitarist and singer songwriter who blends an indie rock style with a hint of math rock and shoe gaze.

Campbell’s current solo project, inspired by his personal journey, blends pop and indie-rock style with emotional lyrics and crowd pleasing guitar rifs. The yet-to-be-named collection includes three recently-released singles including “Water Bug,” “Low Light,” and “Pongo 1999.” Written while he was living in Fort Collins, Colorado, “Low Light” evokes a moody late afternoon in the shadow of the Rockies “front range.” The more recent “Water Bug,” composed and recorded in his new Providence, Rhode Island digs, centers on the interplay of expectations and emotions we all struggle with. Campbell wrote and performed all tracks on the collection’s recorded songs and is currently assembling a band for live performances. An album launch performance is in the works, with tour to follow, all dates yet to be announced.

Campbell is a frequent performer in the local eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island indie and basement music scene. In addition to his solo projects, he is known for his band The Three Mandareens, who released their self-titled debut album in 2021. Evoking an Indie Rock meets Math Rock style, the band is an energetic performing trio with fan favorite songs “Wiper Blades,” “Boomerang Generation,” and “Discount Whiskey” topping their live sets. The band took a hiatus in 2023 but has reformed with new members as of Fall 2024. Campbell plays lead guitar and is lead singer in the trio, with band mates Elliot Eastman on drums and Nick Vardo on bass. The group is currently working on a new album with several songs already making their way into the set lists of recent performances.

Campbell is from Essex, Massachusetts and went to college at Westfield State University (class of 2020) where he was Chief Music Director at WSKB, Westfield’s college radio station. While in college, he performed locally and was involved with a variety of musical collaborations. He spent last year in Fort Collins CO, where he was inspired to write “Low Light” and start his current solo project. In Spring 2024 he came back east and has recently settled in Providence, Rhode Island.
